Fixed

  • Fatal error on sites where another plugin calls wp_upload_dir() during plugin loading (e.g. widget-context, whose constructor does): that fires the upload routing before WordPress loads the pluggable functions, so the capability check crashed. The routing now bails until wp_get_current_user() exists; real upload requests re-fire it after full bootstrap.

  • Drag & drop fix: the media-new.php dropzone posts to async-upload.php’s legacy sync branch (no action parameter), so the routing now recognizes that request shape too.
  • Media Library screen support: the folder picker (“Organize media in folders”) renders inside the Add-media drag & drop frame on upload.php and applies to its uploads.
